About the department
This position will be assigned to the NSCD (New Serious Chronic Disease) Commercialization Unit and will report directly to the Commercial Director of the Alzheimer’s Disease Department. The team oversees all aspects of conducting commercialization activities critical for market development in Alzheimer’s Disease (AD). The development and launch of therapeutic medication for AD is extremely ambitious, with no specific pathway for commercialization activities. The NSCD Commercialization Unit leads commercial efforts, collaborates with key internal and external stakeholders, and engages broadly in the internal and external ecosystem around Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatohepatitis (MASH), Alzheimer’s Disease (AD), Cardiovascular Disease (CVD), and Cell Therapy. The focus is on delivering transformative therapies to patients with serious chronic diseases.

The position
As a Senior Manager, you are to generate the strategy and lead the commercialization in all phases of pre-launch phase, launch preparation, and throughout after the launch. Some of your key activities will be to:

In the pre-launch phase (approximately within 36 months before launch), the most crucial priority is Therapy Area (TA) development, focusing on two Critical Success Factors (CSFs) which are to establish neuroinflammation as a target for early Alzheimer’s disease, and to increase the diagnosis rate of early Alzheimer’s disease. Changes in the market environment driven by external stakeholders should also be carefully considered.
During the launch preparation phase (approximately within 18 months before launch), your responsibilities will include helping illustrate a launch excellence roadmap (e.g., where to play, how to win/Go-To-Market), executing preparations based on plans, and aid in the building of an organizational set-up under Go-to-Market plans, including assessment (e.g., organizational size, focus). Additionally, you will drive commercialization across the value chain through robust, well-planned initiatives.
Throughout the period, you will serve as the interface/single point of contact (SPOC) for a couple of Global/IO (International Operations) initiated projects.
Build capacity and capabilities in the new Therapy Areas to prepare for launches (starting from -36 months before launch).
Other main job tasks include Business Planning & Administration, Project Management & helping cross-functional teams, Business & Financial forecasting, Customer engagement (Pre-promotion is prohibited), gaining business insight & Market intelligence, and exploring collaboration with external partners.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or above (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred) within Science or Business is essential.
5+ years of pre-launch activities and KOL engagement experience (Pharmaceutical/ Medical device) is necessary.
Experience in initiating and driving own project, and being involved in global/regional projects is required.
Experience in leading cross functional projects within a commercial or multi-functions and execution of plans consistent with brand strategy are essential.
Japanese and intermediate English (reading/writing/speaking) skills are necessary.
