As a Public Affairs Manager, you will lead various disease area (including NASH, Alzheimer Disease, Cardiovascular Disease) public activities, mainly on policy development. You will also contribute to the company policy-focused activities: building relationships with policymakers and providing input to company policy activities in Japan, not limited to chronic diseases. In addition, you will work flexibly with internal stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach to chronic diseases in Japan. Other tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Gather information and analyze policy issues in chronic diseases through research, surveys, and interviews. Develop public affairs strategy and action plans. Build a strong network with relevant stakeholders and organize appropriate activities and projects through engagement with them.
• Investigate the potential for the chronic diseases patient groups in Japan, working with Clinical Medical Regulatory (CMR) colleagues.
• Create appropriate materials, tools, and events to achieve the company policy goals in Japan.
• Work closely with the internal team, including the Communications team, Market Access and Pricing team, the chronic diseases Commercialization team to identify communication opportunities as well as manage potential risks on matters relating to chronic diseases, to ensure public affairs activities aid the price negotiations for chronic diseases products and align with the commercial objectives.
• Work closely with the Medical team to ensure that the company is making progress on setting a desirable environment for its products for the medical community.

経験・スキル

• Must have a minimum bachelor’s degree.
• Experience in public affairs, government relations, or policy development is required. Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is preferable but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of Japanese government relations, the policy-making process, healthcare policy, and the pharmaceutical business.
• Must have the ability to build internal and external networks, with excellent communication skills, as well as strong project management skills.
• Excellent writing and speaking expertise in both Japanese and English.
