To accelerate business growth and power the next wave of cashless and financial service innovation, they are seeking an experienced Financial Legal Affairs Officer to join their collaborative Tokyo team.

Legal Innovation from Concept to Market Launch
In this role, you won't just review contracts after products are built. Working alongside a dynamic, tight-knit legal team of six, you will advise business divisions from the initial ideation stage, taking both an "offensive" and "defensive" approach to growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Product & New Business Advisory: Lead legal and contract reviews for innovative financial and payment offerings, collaborating directly with product teams from the conceptual stage.
Regulatory Research: Investigate complex financial regulations, payment laws, and evolving industry rules to keep business initiatives compliant and ahead of the curve.
Business Consultation: Serve as a trusted legal partner, offering strategic counsel to internal business units on daily operational and regulatory matters.

REQUIREMENTS
Experience: 5+ years of practical legal experience within a company's legal department in the payment or financial sector, OR corporate legal experience handling payment and finance matters at a law firm.
Work Style: Autonomous, agile, and able to execute with a high sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred: Practical experience providing legal support for new business/product launches. Business-level English is a plus.
