Role
Role & Responsibilities
As a Data Science Manager, you will serve as a strategic partner to commercial stakeholders, leveraging advanced analytics to solve complex business challenges. You will lead the integration of machine learning and predictive modeling into core operations, effectively turning raw data into clear, actionable insights that shape the company’s future. In this role, you will champion a data-driven culture, mentoring cross-functional teams and ensuring that sophisticated analytical concepts are communicated with clarity and influence to drive institutional decision-making.

Main tasks include
Lead the development and execution of advanced data science strategies to address critical business objectives.
Create and implement machine learning, NLP, and large language models to uncover new commercial opportunities.
Collaborate with global and local teams to align data strategies with organizational growth priorities.
Translate complex analytical results into compelling narratives for executive-level stakeholders.
Foster a culture of data literacy and high-quality analytical excellence across the organization.
Requirements
7+ years of professional experience in data science or advanced analytics (or 5+ years with a PhD).
Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with R is considered a strong asset.
Proven track record of success in leading data science projects from initial design to full implementation.
Solid expertise in machine learning, predictive modeling, and feature engineering.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex data integration and cleaning processes.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and guide cross-functional stakeholders.
Excellent storytelling and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical insights to non-technical audiences.
Business-level proficiency in Japanese and fluency in English for global collaboration.
Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, or Data Science is highly preferred.

機械学習、予測モデリングなどの高度分析手法に関する専門知識・実務経験
データ準備、データ統合、変換、クレンジング、特徴量エンジニアリングの経験
PythonおよびSQLを用いたプログラミングスキル（Rの経験があれば尚可）
データサイエンスまたはアナリティクス関連プロジェクトを企画から導入・実装までリードした経験
高いステークホルダーマネジメント能力、コミュニケーション能力、および影響力
日本語：ビジネスレベル以上
英語：グローバル環境でのコミュニケーションに抵抗のない方
