This role supports the company’s growth by delivering best-in-class Health, Safety, and Wellbeing initiatives for employees, customers, and business partners.
The Health & Safety Manager acts as the H&S Business Partner and subject matter expert, leading the implementation of health, safety, and wellbeing strategies across all sites in Japan while ensuring regulatory compliance and promoting a strong safety culture.
Working closely with the global H&S community, this role aligns local initiatives with global strategies and collaborates with international stakeholders.
The position is also a member of the Japan Risk Oversight Committee.
【Key Responsibilities】
Strategy & Compliance
・Develop and implement Health, Safety, and Wellbeing strategies aligned with local regulations and corporate standards
・Ensure compliance with applicable H&S laws and internal policies
・Support ISO 45001 certification, including audits and procedure development
Program Management & Risk Mitigation
・Lead H&S initiatives, training, and awareness programs to promote a strong safety culture
・Identify and mitigate health and safety risks across retail stores, distribution centers, offices, and events
・Manage incident reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
・Monitor and report H&S performance indicators (KPIs)
Business Continuity Planning (BCP)
・Develop and implement BCP strategies and response plans with stakeholders
・Plan and conduct BCP drills and identify improvement areas
Employee Wellbeing
・Develop occupational health and mental wellbeing programs
・Oversee external vendors providing wellbeing services
Workplace Safety & Facility Collaboration
・Work with the General Affairs team on emergency preparedness and workplace safety improvements
・Implement risk prevention measures and safety programs
Stakeholder Collaboration
・Act as the main H&S contact in Japan, coordinating with internal teams, vendors, and regulatory bodies
・Communicate H&S updates and crisis-related information to employees and management

- 経験・スキル
- ・Minimum 8 years’ H&S management experience, preferably in large, multi-site organizations (retail sector a plus)
・Strong knowledge of Japan H&S legislation, ISO 45001, and H&S management systems
・Proven ability to design, implement, and manage H&S strategies and programs
・Excellent influencing and interpersonal skills; able to build trust, guide others, and foster a positive safety culture with humility
・Proactive, people-oriented, and eager to engage with stakeholders to understand business needs
・Demonstrates patience, resilience, adaptability, and high emotional intelligence
・Quick learner with strong planning, prioritization, and problem-solving abilities
・Full professional proficiency in both English and Japanese
・Individual contributor role: Able to work independently while demonstrating leadership and providing advisory support to senior stakeholders - 学歴
