This is a key leadership position to drive business growth as the right hand to the Country Manager of Japan, as part of the management team of a leading multinational manufacturer.

■ About the Company
Our client is the Japanese subsidiary of a major global manufacturer. With a global network and a solid business foundation, they are aiming for sustainable growth in the Japanese market.

■ Position Overview
As a member of the Japan management team, you will act as the right hand to the Country Manager, serving as a trusted advisor to facilitate business discussions. You will be responsible for proposing and supporting the execution of action plans to improve the country's business performance in the short and medium term, based on sound financial and business analysis. You are expected to provide all necessary financial information—past, present, and future—to the management team and ensure the full execution of business plans with a forward-looking perspective.

■ Key Responsibilities
• Drive the annual reporting cycle and rolling forecast process.
• Manage sales and margin, and safeguard the company's financial position, including free cash flow.
• Prepare and present various financial reports (P&L, B/S, profitability analysis, etc.) to the Japan management team and the division.
• Oversee cash management and optimize working capital.
• Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual closing in compliance with both IFRS and J-GAAP.
• Coordinate and lead strategic discussions in Japan and participate in key business negotiations.
• Provide financial analysis for the S&OP (Demand Planning) process.
• Develop business plans for major CAPEX.
• Act as the primary contact for external auditors and tax authorities.
• Manage, coach, and develop two direct reports in the finance team.
• Provide financial training to non-finance staff to improve their financial literacy.

経験・スキル

■ Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or Economics (Master's degree preferred).
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in accounting and finance, including managerial experience with direct reports.
• Business level or higher English and Japanese proficiency (both verbal and written).
• In-depth knowledge of finance, reporting, controlling, and taxation.
• Advanced skills in Excel (mandatory) and experience with SAP (is an asset).
• Experience working in a multinational company.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex situations and make objective decisions.
• Excellent communication skills to convey complex financial information clearly and build collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to travel internationally 1-2 times per year.
• CPA, CMA, or similar certifications are a plus.
• Experience with IFRS is a plus.
