Job Title: Legal Affairs Senior Manager & Manager
Employment Status: Full-time Location: Shibuya, Tokyo Available Positions: One for each role

About the Role
In this position, you will serve as a legal expert, managing specialized and intricate tasks. Your primary function will be to provide legal counsel and support for the company's business operations, concentrating on contracts, compliance, and matters involving business partners. As a manager, you will also help guide the department toward its strategic goals under the direction of the department head.

Compensation and Benefits
• Salary: Annual compensation is negotiable. The Senior Manager role offers up to 13 million JPY, while the Manager role offers up to 11 million JPY. Final salary is determined based on prior experience.
• Salary Review: Pay is reviewed for an increase once annually in April.
• Bonuses: Performance-based bonuses are distributed three times per year in June, December, and March.

Primary Responsibilities
• Assess legal risks connected to the company's business plans and provide workable solutions.
• Deliver legal guidance to assigned divisions to ensure their operations adhere to all legal requirements.
• Develop, assess, and negotiate contracts and other legal documents related to external business dealings.
• Take part in or lead projects that span multiple departments.
• Support the department head in developing strategy, cultivating team member skills, and managing the budget.
• Coordinate with the broader Legal headquarters by sharing necessary information on legal matters.

Required Skills and Background
Qualifications:
• Must hold a legal qualification from Japan, the United States, or a jurisdiction with a comparable legal framework.
Language Competence:
• Senior Manager: Requires English proficiency for communicating with international staff without translators and for analyzing specialized legal agreements, at a level comparable to a TOEIC score of 700.
• Manager: Requires basic English skills sufficient for reading and writing emails.
Preferred Experience:
• Demonstrated ability to autonomously oversee the legal components of projects like M&A transactions.
• Comprehensive understanding of business law, including core principles of contracts.
• Background in laws governing supply chain management is advantageous.
• Skill in evaluating factual scenarios, applying laws to identify risks, and formulating solutions.
• Capacity to offer business-focused advice to reduce legal exposure and ensure internal stakeholders understand the guidance.
