We're looking for a IT Field Service Manager to lead our critical IT Field Services Team right here in Osaka, Japan!
This is an exciting opportunity to oversee the operation of our 24/7/365 Field Services, covering everything from desktops and laptops to Point of Sale and mobile handheld devices across the company. You'll be at the forefront of managing expectations, developing a high-performing team, and ensuring we meet all defined metrics. You'll gain an inside view of our cutting-edge system ecosystem and engage directly with senior business leadership.
What You'll Do:
As the Field Service Manager, you'll be instrumental in:
Strategic Management (40%): Lead the alignment of projects and tasks with technology processes and governance. You'll collaborate with business and internal partners on the development, installation, and support of field-deployed IT assets (POS, Access Control, Desktop, Mobile Devices), developing project schedules and resource allocation models.
Technical Solutions & Support (30%): Provide creative technical solutions and oversee activities for all supported hardware devices. You'll ensure high system availability by leveraging your team and other support organizations, and expertly manage external vendor relationships.
Business Partnership (20%): Serve as a creative thought partner with business stakeholders, service providers, key technology teams, and senior leadership. You'll be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for field-deployed hardware support best practices.
Reporting & Analysis (10%): Provide data and reporting of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and trends to IT management through ad hoc, weekly, and monthly status reports.
Safety & Compliance: Actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established company policies and procedures.
Team Leadership: Supervise and develop team members in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
What We're Looking For:
Qualifications:
Proven Experience: A strong track record as a Field Service Engineer or equivalent.
Project Management: Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously under pressure.
Technical Expertise: Working knowledge of computer networks (wireless, Internet), and hardware (PCs, MACs, POS, Workstations, Handheld Devices).
Software Acumen: Knowledge of licensing and product use rights for Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Symantec, Adobe, and copyright for software licensing.
Self-Motivated: Highly self-motivated and directed with strong leadership and organizational management skills.
ITIL & Data Protection: Working knowledge of ITIL processes, data protection operations, and relevant legislation.
Communication & Analytics: Ability to communicate and measure KPIs at both individual and team levels, in both Japanese and English (verbally and in writing).
Passion: A strong commitment to providing the best environment for colleagues and customers.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree is required.
Experience: 7+ years in IT technical support and 5+ years in a service management capacity, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
