The Senior IT Security Engineer (Cyber)

In this role you will support a secure network infrastructure that implements security controls for the perimeter, internal network, endpoints, cloud, and remote access.

(This work requires collaboration with multiple teams, including global teams.)
As a security person in charge of security projects and audit responses, you will lead projects and issues.

You will be responsible for operational management and monitoring of security products, and corrective actions in the event of a failure.

You will be responsible for cyber defense operations using vulnerability management and intrusion detection systems, as well as analyzing business impact and coordinating the realization of balanced security.

You will be responsible for creating operational documents and procedures necessary for business, and updating the contents as appropriate.

Skills :

Understanding and knowledge of cybersecurity operations required by business companies.

Knowledge and understanding of information security as it relates to the retail industry.

Knowledge and understanding of network security fundamentals, protocols, and technologies.

Knowledge and understanding of security controls (antivirus, IPS/ IDS, email filtering, website blocking, patching, etc.).

Engineering and/or architectural understanding of technologies such as network firewalls, intrusion detection sensors, anti-malware technologies, vulnerability scanning technologies, and APT prevention technologies.

Knowledge of technology platforms (Windows, open source, middleware applications, database applications, Cisco, Adobe), etc.

Understanding DDoS concepts, mitigation tools, and techniques.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.


Language skills (Japanese and English are both used in work, so business level or above is required).
experience :

5+ years of experience in the cybersecurity field. Also, similar experience. (Security work experience at a business company or equivalent work experience is a plus)

5+ years of relevant technical and/or related business experience in consulting/research/intelligence in the field of cybersecurity.

Practical experience with technology platforms (Windows, open source, middleware applications, database applications, Cisco, Adobe), etc.

Engineering experience in technologies such as network firewalls, intrusion detection sensors, anti-malware technologies, vulnerability scanning technologies, and anti-APT technologies (architecture experience is a plus).

● At least 5 years of experience in project management for application development, implementation, replacement, upgrade, etc.
● Experience in Agile development projects
● Experience with web front-end/back-end development projects
● Experience in native application development projects
● Experience leading projects that involve multiple departments and markets
● Experience as a technical lead or delivery lead within a project　
● Experience participating in global scale projects.　
● Business level or higher English and Japanese language skills (discussion, presentation, documentation)
● Team management in English (Agile Squad team management)
● Understanding of security requirements
● Understanding of system development process
● Use of Agile project management tools (jira, etc.)
● Understanding of application operation and operation on Cloud (Azure)
● Ability to communicate in a diverse culture
● Ability to respond flexibly according to the situation
● Experience in application program development
● Experience using Github / stash
● Experience using Kubernetes
