Legal Manager – Exclusive Opportunity with a Luxury Leader in Tokyo

Company Overview: Our Client is a prestigious and globally renowned luxury goods company, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Manager to join our dynamic team in Tokyo. As a leader in the luxury industry, we are committed to excellence and innovation, and we are looking for a talented legal professional to contribute to our continued success.

Position Overview: As the Legal Manager in Tokyo, you will play a key role in ensuring legal compliance and providing strategic guidance on a wide range of legal matters. This position requires a thorough understanding of Japanese and international business law, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:
1. Legal Compliance: Ensure the company's operations in Japan adhere to all relevant local and international laws and regulations.
2. Contract Drafting and Review: Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including supplier agreements, distribution agreements, and licensing agreements.
3. Intellectual Property: Manage and protect the company's intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks, patents, and copyrights.
4. Dispute Resolution: Handle legal disputes and provide advice on pre-litigation strategies to protect the company's interests.
5. Corporate Governance: Provide guidance on corporate governance matters and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
6. Risk Management: Identify legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate and manage them effectively.
7. Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including executives, sales, marketing, and operations teams, to provide legal support and guidance.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelors in Law (BA) or equivalent legal qualification is a plus but not must have
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a legal professional, preferably in the luxury goods or related industry.
3. Admitted to practice law in Japan or in the US is a plus.
4. Strong knowledge of Japanese business law, contracts, intellectual property, and corporate governance.
5. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
6. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
7. Fluency in English and Japanese (both written and spoken).
